Miro Mariapori
I am an information and communications technology engineering student graduating in summer 2026, with my strongest area of expertise being modern full-stack web development. I build web applications, automations, and software solutions for practical needs.
I am currently working on my engineering thesis on autonomous vehicle software in collaboration with the Finnish National Defence University. I have gained experience through an internship as well as several years of freelance projects.
What I do
I design and implement software solutions from start to finish. I am skilled in both frontend and backend development, and my toolkit includes modern frameworks and technologies. This website, too, was built with Next.js.
I enjoy being involved in every stage of implementation, from planning to deployment. I am especially motivated by creating technical solutions that serve real needs and also work well from the user's perspective.
How I work
I value clear code, sensible structure, and solutions that remain usable beyond the first version. In my work, I balance quality, speed, and practicality.
I use AI tools to support ideation, speed up work, review code, and reduce repetitive tasks. However, I do not see them as a substitute for understanding: I want to know what I am building, why it works, and how problems are fixed.
I work well independently, but I also enjoy working in a team. I value sharing knowledge, helping others, and continuous learning.
Experience
During my internship, I developed a web application for healthcare needs from the ground up. In the project, I learned about designing a complete application, understanding customer needs, building user interfaces, considering information security, and practical software development.
As a freelance software developer, I have implemented automation solutions, websites, and plugins based on customer needs. These projects have especially developed my ability to listen to customers, quickly identify the core problem, and independently carry a solution through to completion.
